Always one of our most popular tours with endless scenery to enjoy as we make our way over the Settle Carlisle and through border country to Edinburgh, Scotland’s beautiful capital city.
The Settle Carlisle needs no introduction with its towering viaducts, tumbling streams and fabulous views from the train but, less well known perhaps, is that this beautiful scenery continues from Carlisle, over Beattock and through Carstairs right on to Edinburgh, where we expect to break for around three hours.
On leaving Edinburgh the light spring evenings allow us to enjoy the sweeping sea views as we make our way south along the East Coast through Berwick and Alnmouth towards Newcastle and home.
We expect to depart St Neots around 0600 (Peterborough around 0640 and Doncaster for example around 0800). As an approximate guide arrival into Doncaster should be around 2050 and Peterborough around 2210 for example.
